Regina’s Psychology degree led her to begin a career in the pharmaceutical industry; a path not often considered by psychology undergraduates. Regina worked for some of the biggest global pharmaceutical companies, overseeing the operations of country-specific Contact Centres for the European market. After 7 years Regina decided to change career paths and has moved into the education sphere, having now taught English and Psychology around the world. Regina will be discussing the different professional paths Psychology graduates can take and the value of interdisciplinary skills from your degree.

Creativity in The Arts, Media & Culture

Gaith Abdulla is a writer and Gulf studies specialist based in Dubai. His research focuses on socio-politics of the Gulf and its intersection with the region’s contemporary art and culture. Abdulla is the co-founder of collecting-and-research platform Engage101. He has published social, cultural and political commentary in local and international media. Gaith has presented at numerous conferences, workshops and panels on Gulf affairs.

Eleanor Mallon is a junior content editor at Huda Beauty. She spent her school years in the UK, Kuwait and the UAE. Eleanor left Dubai College to study English Literature and Philosophy at Leeds University, where she developed her interest in issues around gender. With her eyes on breaking into the beauty industry, Eleanor equipped herself with skills suited to the digital age. After returning to Dubai, she now publishes and edits content to promote one of the world’s leading beauty brands.

Sumayya Sarwar is CEO and Founder of MamaME, a wellness app for Mums and Mums-to-be. MamaME has gone on to provide a support network for thousands of mothers and Sumayya has raised funds from the leading VC firm in the Middle East, Flat6Labs. Until the birth of her first child, Sumayya was a practicing dentist in London for ten years. This momentous life-event prompted a radical change in her career path as she recognised a need to help equip other mothers with a community platform.
